At the end of the musical contest “Eurovision-2016”, which was held in Stockholm, the winner became the singer Jamala, representing Ukraine. She sang the song “1944”, she received the result of 534 votes. On the second place is the Australian singer Demi Im with the song «Sound of Silence”, received 511 votes.

Sergey Lazarev, Russian singer with the song “You Are the Only One,” is on the third position, he received 491 votes.

Jamala’s song is dedicated to the deportation of Crimean Tatars during the World War II. It became the subject of controversy long before the “Eurovision.” According to the words of the vocalist, the composition is closely linked with the history of her family.

Earlier, Jamala confessed that the song has a political subtext. Then it is not exactly hit the “Eurovision”, would have been regarded as a political act. This is not an arena for political slogans. The singer added that if she says it loudly, the song will be removed from the contest. Also she said that we must be careful and wise.
